The North Hampshire Hospital is in Basingstoke in North Hampshire.
There are two main buildings, the main building and the smaller Sherborne
building. The main building was opened in 1974 and so celebrates its 30th
anniversary in 2004. There are around 450 beds throughout.
The site where the hospital is situated is quite large and contains many
other outer buildings as well. These contain extra facilities such as the
MRI scanner and the ARK Centre, which is one of the top medical research centres
in the world. The expansion is set to continue with a brand new building
being added that will house more operating theatres and treatment areas when
it's finished at the end of 2004.
To find the hospital in Basingstoke, look for the signs that appear on just
about any roundabout. You are basically looking for the A340 to
Aldermaston, and when coming off the Aldermaston Road roundabout, you will see
the AA HQ on your left and traffic lights straight infront of you. Turn
left at the traffic lights, then right and up the hill, the turning into the
hospital is on your left.
The main car park is the first turning on your left (mini roundabout).
There is very short term parking (10 mins) in front of the main entrance if you
go straight on at the mini roundabout, and if you turn right, you will get to
the maternity building car parks which will be on your left just past the
building site (which will become the new DTI centre by the end of 2004).
Want
to join us but not present a programme? We are looking for
new members to be ward visitors, to go around the wards during
the day and collect requests to play on the evening's
shows. Interested? Click

A new era
for HRB is coming soon. At the end of July, we'll be
moving out of our existing building and replacing it with a
