March 2010 HRB has walked off with the Bronze award in the coveted Station of the Year category It was the 7th time in 8 years that the station has been nominated in this big award which is one of 10 given out at the annual awards show which is organised by the Hospital Broadcasting Association. The judges, all people who work full time in radio and the media, remarked "HRB comes across as a lively little station that gets out and about both in the hospital and the local area." Another judge commented that "the entry was well made, with a real warmth to its output." This year HRB was also nominated in the Special Event category for its coverage of the Armed Forces Flag Raising Ceremony in Basingstoke last year. Although this entry didn't win a prize, presenter Rosemary Kershaw was praised by the judges, one of whom remarked that "he thought he was listening to Five Live". More details about all the award winners along with the winning entries in each category are at the HBA's website at www.hbauk.com 07 January 2012 23:54:39
