HRB is pleased to have been nominated 4 times at the National Hospital Radio Awards 2013.
Dave Warren is nominated in the Best Male Presenter and Jeremy Miles gets a nomination in the Best Newcomer.
Last year's Gold award winner in the best newcomer category Christine Rowley gets a nomination in the Best Female Presenter, and Christine's interview with former cancer patient at Basingstoke Hospital, Dawn Green gets a nomination in the Best Pseech Package.
Although the station has missed out on the big Station of the Year category this year, 4 nominations is still a great result.
Jeremy Miles presents a number of shows for the station including, Music on Demand, G Floor Jukebox and Saturday Speciality.
Fundraising Officer for HRB and presenter, Dave Warren was particularly pleased to be nominated in the Male Presenter of the Year and says it’s a pleasure to give up every Saturday to come in and do his 2 hour show each week. Last year he introduced a new idea to help link patinets to the station through his feature, where a patient lists 5 songs, they love and bring back past memories.
As Best Newcomer Gold Award Winner last year, Christine Rowley has again been nominated for two awards, Female Presenter of the Year and Best Speech Package. The interview with Dawn Green, rare cancer Pseudomyxoma survior, has been short listed under Best Speech Package. Dawn’s interview and 4 year fight against this illness and as a long standing patient of Basingstoke Hospital touched the hearts of local resients and hospital staff when broadcast on air.
The awards will be presented at a gala night at the Hilton Hotel in Blackpool on March 23rd at the start of National Hospital Broadcasting Week 2013.
