HRB's Dave Warren has won a Silver award at the National Hospital Radio Awards in Blackpool. Dave is the second HRB presenter in 3 years to win the silver award in this category following Mark Keavney's success in 2011.
The Judges of this annual event, from both radio/broadcasting and health care sectors said “the entries this year were of a particularly high standard and made the job even harder.”
Marilyn Price, Chair of HRB said “she was delighted when Dave Warren was announced as this year’s Silver winner for Male Presenter of the Year. She said “it reflected all the hard work and dedication he puts into the station, his shows and commitment to turn out every weekend as a volunteer.”
Dave Warren commented; "I'm so happy to walk away from the hospital radio awards with the Silver prize. Having not been nominated in 2012 to coming second this year was a huge surprise and honour. My show includes national sports and showbiz updates as well as local news and live guests talking about their events coming up for patients to get involved in after discharge on our HRB Diary. This year I also included a feature to interview patients on the wards asking them to talk about 5 songs that really mean something to them. I called the feature, the songs that made me…me. Two fantastic patients that I included in my entry, both loved music and had such amazing memories of the songs they chose, it was a joy to play them on the radio."
