Special Guests, Cracker Pulling and loads of Requests – It’s the start of Christmas on HRB

The official start of Christmas is Sunday 15 December – on HRB at least.

It all kicks off with a live 6 hour Sound of Sunday Christmas Show hosted by Neil Ogden with a line up of special guests.

Around the wards, the HRB team of Paul Turner, Nathan Freeman, Dave Warren, Mark Winwood and KAty Ward will be pulling Christmas crackers with patients and staff who will then get to hear their favourite song on the air.  It's the Great Christmas Cracker Dash, an annual eventy that has been running for around 14 years.

As well as the crackers, there'll be loads of special guests.  The casts of the three local Christmas pantos from Reading, Basingstoke and Newbury will be joining in, singer Katrina Leskanich from Katrina and the Waves will be joining in and from The A to Z of Pop, Richard Smith will be talking about his bitg project, The Big Broadcast which is happening on New Year's Eve.

Finally, in the last of a series that has run for 7 years, Chris Bellinger, who was in charge of BBC Saturday morning TV for 30 years will be sharing his memories of working on shows such as Swap Shop, Saturday Superstore, Going Live and Live and Kicking as well as trying to equal DJ Mike Read's 100% score in the Saturday Morning TV quiz.

The fun starts at 12pm on Sunday 15 December.
