It’s Christmas on HRB

Christmas Crackers, special guests and lots of requests, are all part of HRB’s line-up for Christmas and New Year 2023.

The schedule starts on December 10th with fast moving festive fun in Neil Ogden’s Sound of Sunday Big Christmas Show.

The show is back in the studio and back in the wards with patients and staff pulling crackers and making instant requests.  Bishopswood Court in Tadley and Cherry Blossom Manor in Bramley will also be heard pulling crackers in their own stand alone specials.

Special guests Alan Fletcher (Karl Kennedy from Neighbours) and soul singing legend Alexander O’Neal will join in too!

There will be live request shows throughout the holiday period including Christmas Day and Boxing Day, making sure that HRB continues to play the music our listeners around the wards want to hear.

As well as request shows, there are plenty of other programmes of interest.

Richard Smith goes live for daily editions of The A to Z of Pop.  As always he will play music based around one letter of the alphabet but in a twist will not know the letter until it is chosen by his special guest at the start of each show!  What could possibly go wrong!

For the third year The Chapel Royal Choir, St. James’s Palace, presents a service of words and music exclusively for NHS hospital staff and patients featuring well-loved carols, hymns and readings.

There’s special festive editions of many of our regular shows such as Vinyl Impressions, After Hours, The Sound of Country and The Retro Radio Show.

Andy McCormick presents his annual Christmas Day Postcard from New Zealand and a compilation of his Slice of Kiwi feature which plays music from artists and groups from New Zealand.

Neil Ogden will count down the most requested artists of 2023 and to close the year, HRB’s presenters will host the HRB New Year’s Eve Music Party.
