10 Years of Volunteering for Mark

HRB volunteer Mark Winwood has been recognised for 10 years of volunteering with the station.

Mark joined HRB in 2012 as a ward visitor and continues to visit the wards to visit patients and collect requests in advance of Music on Demand shows.  As a ward visitor, Mark often has a little more time to spend with the patients without the pressure of getting back tot he studio to get on air.

During the pandemic, Mark, along with the other ward visitors, phoned round the wards to ask staff to collect the requests.

Mark was presented with the certificate from the Hospital Broadcasting Association at HRB’s recent AGM.

Also at the AGM, Terry Firth was presented with his 10 year certificate.  Terry also joined in 2012 and presents Looking Back every Sunday evening and also the monthly Folk on Sunday.
