Christmas Crackers, special guests and lots of requests, are all part of HRB’s line-up for Christmas and New Year 2022.
The schedule starts on December 11th with fast moving festive fun in Neil Ogden’s Sound of Sunday Big Christmas Show featuring the first of several Christmas Cracker Dashes with local care homes. Cherry Blossom Manor take part for the second year and we welcome the residents of Abbey Court in Popley and Oak Lodge in Basingstoke to the cracker pulling fun this year.
There will be live request shows throughout the holiday period, including Christmas Day and Boxing Day, making sure that HRB continues to play the music our listeners want to hear.
As well as request shows, there are plenty of other programmes of interest.
For the second year The Chapel Royal Choir, St. James’s Palace, presents a service of words and music exclusively for NHS hospital staff and patients featuring well-loved carols, hymns and readings.
Richard Smith plays plenty of Christmas music from through the decades from the 60s onwards in special editions of The A to Z of Pop and will take us into the new year with The Ultimate New year’s Eve.
There’s special festive editions of many of our regular shows such as Vinyl Impressions, After Hours, The Sound of Country and The Retro Radio Show.
Andy McCormick presents his annual Christmas Day Postcard from New Zealand and returns on New Year’s Day with a brand new edition ofThe Big Slice of Kiwi featuring artists and groups from New Zealand originally featured during his monthly show.
Neil Ogden will count down the most requested artists of 2022.
Music on Demand shows will play requests for listeners throughout the festive period including Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Eve.
