Hundreds of hospital radio volunteers will be gathering in Watford this weekend for a 3-day conference with the big event being the National Hospital RAdio Awards on Saturday evening at which HRB has been nominated for 7 awards.

The event, organised by the Hospital Broadcasting Association, gives volunteers the chance to take part in training and seminars to improve their knowledge and skills, as well as meet other volunteers to share ideas and just generally catch up with friends.

This year there will be the launch of a major study into the impact of hospital radio and the work of the volunteers.

The National Hospital Radio Awards highlights the great work that hospital radio volunteers do and the thousands of hours of work that they donate to their stations and local hospitals.

HRB is nominated in 7 of the 10 categories, the most ever.  The nominations are Best Male Presenter – Dave Warren, Best Female Presenter Christine Rowley, Best Show with Multiple Presenters – Mel and Adie, Best Speech Package – Maria Miller MP interview, Best Special Event – Magna Carta Festival, Best Specialist Music Show – Sounds of the Fifties and Station of the Year.

A full list of nominations and news on hospital radio in the UK can be found at www.hbauk.com
