HRB marked Local Radio Day on Friday 20 October with 2 special shows.

This year, radio stations nationwide celebrated the everyday people and organisations that go the extra mile, make a difference and elevate their communities,

Margot Konitzer presented a special show that talked about Basingstoke’s local “community heroes” – the people and organisations that make a difference to our local area.

Before that, Neil Ogden hosted a special edition of Residents’ Requests from Magnoloia Court in Popley, which got residents and visitors directly involved in the show to choose their favourite music on the air – directly involving local people in their local radio station, exactly what community and local radio does.
