Honorary member of HRB Nigel Dallard has been presented with the Lifetime Achievement award at the National Hospital Radio Awards 2026.

The awards were held in Bolton on 21 March as part of the Hospital Broadcasting Association’s annual conference which this year marked 100 years of hospital radio in the UK.

Nigel is a full time member of Winchester Radio which broadcasts on FM and DAB to Winchester as a community radio station as well as around the hospital in Winchester but is an honorary member of HRB due to the help he and fellow member Paul Blitz gave to HRB in 2001 when the station was just back on air after the fire which ad devastated the station 18 months earlier.  Paul is also an honorary member of HRB.

Nigel has also helped numerous stations with help and advice as a volunteer of the HBA.

HRB’s Thanga Rekha was nominated in the Best Female Presenter category but didn’t win an award.

The awards and conference were held in Bolton and also featured keynote speaker broadcaster Nicholas Owen.
