The National Hospital Radio Awards were finally announced on Easter Monday – in a virtual awards ceremony streamed online by the Hospital Broadcasting Association.
The awards ceremony was due to take place last month but was cancelled due to the Coronavirus restrictions. HRB was nominated 3 times this year but for the first time in several years was not one of the winners.
Highlights included a Special Recognition Award for the association’s President June Snowden for her tireless work in promoting and supporting hospital radio for almost all of the 50 years since the HBA was formed in 1970.
Radio Brockley was crowned Station of the Year but with votes from the judges so close for the rest of the nominated stations, including HRB, there were two Silver prizes awarded, to Radio Redhill and BHBN.
