A to Z of Pop presenter Richard Smith has been named as the latest honorary member of Hospital Radio Basingstoke.

Richard has been making programmes like The A to Z of Pop and The BIG Broadcast for HRB and many other hospital and community radio stations for over 21 years and has been a big part of the station, helping out during the pandemic and helping fill the schedule on many occasions.

Richard was given his honorary membership on the the station’s open day on 6 June by the Mayor Basingstoke and later in the day presented an hour live on the air in HRB’s new studio.

As well as being a regular every day on HRB, Richard is looking forward to being back on the air on New Year’s Eve with the return of The BIG Broadcast, a 14 hour live show with requests, guests, competitions, a panto, and a 30 piece award winning ladies choir.

The BIG Broadcast starts at 12 midday on New Year’s Eve.
