Hospital Radio Basingstoke got together with Hampshire Medical Fund to raise funds with an evening of shopping presented by SOLO MIA, which is a local business that offers personally selected Italian clothing and leather handbags.
The event was held and hosted at the Holiday Inn Basingstoke and was a great success not only raising funds but creating awareness of both charities. We were delighted with the sum raised of £1068.89.
The event was a collaboration with the Hampshire Medial Fund. Founded in 1981 by the late Earl of Carnarvon, the charity purchases the most up-to-date equipment for Basingstoke, Winchester and Andover Hospitals. This helps Hampshire Hospitals NHS Trust attract and retain the best consultants, junior doctors, nurses and therapists to provide the best possible care for the community of Hampshire. As the burden of funding on the NHS increases, so does the need for support from the Hampshire Medical Fund.
